Create Load

TMS Remote User Interface

Purpose

This screen allows the vendor to create Postal loads within the TMS system.  

Access

Invoked by <File><New><Load> on the TMS Remote User Interface screen.
Invoked by pressing the New Load iconic button on the TMS Remote User Interface screen.

Design Notes

All fields on this screen are presently required. A future enhancement will allow Retail loads to also be created via this screen.

If the trailer/container entered does not exist in the database, a warning will be issued to the user.  If upon verification, the user confirms that they have entered the correct number, the Create New Equipment screen will be displayed.  Upon entering the new equipment into the system, they can then proceed with the new load creation process.

Field and Control Definitions

Postal Contract Button

Invokes the Postal Contract Lookup screen.

Postal Contract ID

Allows the user to enter the Postal Contract number or displays the number returned from the Postal Contract Lookup screen

Origin Button

Invokes the Customer Lookup screen.  The screen will only display the origin points defined on the Postal Quote.

Origin ID

Allows the user to enter the origin customer number or displays the number returned from the Customer Lookup screen.  If the field is filled in, the customer name, address, city, state, and phone are displayed in the box below.  If the customer number provided is not valid for the specified Postal Contract, then the Customer Lookup screen will pop-up and display the origin points defined on the Postal Quote.

Destination Button

Invokes the Customer Lookup screen.  The screen will only display the destination points defined on the Postal Quote.

Destination ID

Allows the user to enter the destination customer number or displays the number returned from the Customer Lookup screen.  If the field is filled in, the customer name, address, city, state, and phone are displayed in the box below.  If the customer number provided is not valid for the specified Postal Contract, then the Customer Lookup screen will pop-up and display the destination points defined on the Postal Quote

Equipment

The user may enter the equipment prefix  in the first field and the equipment number in the second field.

Release Date/Time

The date and time that the Post Office has said the load will be available for pickup.

Create Load Button

Pressing this button will take the information entered on the screen and create a load within the TMS system.  An error box may be displayed if any required fields are missing or some other problem was encountered during the creation process.

Cancel Button

Pressing this button will discard any information entered and close the Create Load window.  Pressing <Esc> anywhere on the screen has the same effect.
